amazing song

Day 3, 25/05/09,

Today we started off by trying all sorts of "turnings", Mareike also showed us how to keep balance when the boat has turned to a side, and how to recover from undesired turns.. remember, hips out first!! Albeit, Timo fooled me into thinking we should try turning without any support, and i ended up having a nice swim back with my boat full of water.

Having said that, luckily this time Mareike managed to find a tri-skirt big enough for my lorry-look-alike kayak.. it is so large you need two people to empty it!

overall, great day, very hot weather and too many people swimming in the lake.. was tempted to scare some of them by paddling into them!

our guys had a good swim at the end too. Though I was fully changed and ready for a swim in the Europe's largest outdoor pool: Waschmühle

Day 2 pics, 18/06/09

Mareike's Kayak, the DAGGER!!

Holgar loving his boat!

Andrea and Alexandra looking ready for a dwell!

Great start! Kayaking workshop

So, it is here! Kajakfahren auf dem Gelterswoog

Amazing, calm, beautiful lake, few Kilometers outside Kaiserslautern, surrounded by hills covered with trees..

The course started on 11/05/09 with Mareike as the coach

This weblog will present our progress, and some pictures..

First 3 lessons were spent on general progress, turning and recovering the boat after successful immersion!! having said that, drinking that water is seriously not recommended!

if you want to add any pictures, just email it to me: "hamed at mpi-sws . org" (remove the whitespaces and replace the "at" of course), also if you want any picture removed!! we are privacy-aware!!

Berlin Marathon 2007

That happened on sunday, after 2 months of travelling and no training and eating.. results:

PLATZ (AK) NR. NAME AK VEREIN BRUTTO NETTO
25276 (2699) MAL 8091 Haddadi, Hamed (IRN) MH 05:30:48 05:25:53

god knows so many times decided to withdraw.. starting from kilometre 7! but the thought of getting to the end and people shouting and screaming and all the support form others made me run and run and run..

the worst feeling is when a 70 year or older lady overtakes you at kilometre 40!!

now.. legs are not moving much.. but it was a great weekend and experience.. thanks to all those who came to berlin and supported me.

Fresher's week and students

Qoute:

In a room full of freshers who don't know each other, the first person to speak is surely the biggest twat!

Men are just happier??!!!

I am not responsible for these comments!!!
==========================================

Men Are Just Happier People

What do you expect from such simple creatures? Your last name stays put.
The garage is all yours. Wedding plans take care of themselves. Chocolate
is just another snack. You can never be pregnant. You can wear a white
T-shirt to a Thorpe Park. Car mechanics tell you the truth.

The world is your urinal. You never have to drive to another petrol
station because this one's loos are just too yucky. You don't have to stop
and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt. Same work, more pay.
Wrinkles add character. Wedding dress ~£3000. Tux rental ~£50. People
never stare at your chest when you're talking to them. The occasional
well-rendered belch is practically expected. New shoes don't cut, blister,
or mangle your feet. One mood all the time. Phone conversations are over
in 30 seconds flat. You know stuff about tanks.

A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase. You can open all your own
jars. You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness. If
someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend. Your
underwear is £7.99 for a three-pack. Three pairs of shoes are more than
enough. You almost never have strap problems in public. You are unable to
see wrinkles in your clothes.

Everything on your face stays its original colour. The same hairstyle
lasts for years, maybe decades. You only have to shave your face and neck.
You can play with toys all your life. Your belly usually hides your big
hips. One wallet and one pair of shoes one colour for all seasons. You can
wear shorts no matter how your legs look. You can "do" your nails with a
penknife. You have freedom of choice concerning growing a moustache. You
can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes.

No wonder men are happier. Send this to the women who can handle it and to
the men who will enjoy reading it.
